    Working under general supervision, the Compensation Analyst provides analytical expertise and support for the planning, design, development, and administration of associate compensation across the organization. Principal outcomes of this position include executing, modeling and recommending strategies and programs that maximize JCPenney’s competitive offerings, drive business results and support strategic goals in a cost-effective manner.     Primary Responsibilities

    • Provide analysis to support the design, implementation and administration of JCPenney’s compensation programs.
    • Conduct market research, streamline processes, assess opportunities, model improvements and make proposals to ensure the pay programs, structures, and practices are aligned with business strategies.
    • Participates in job evaluations; analyzes job responsibilities, activities, duties, requirements and organizational structure and recommends internal job placement in the appropriate level, title, FLSA classification and determines market range.
    • Work collaboratively and influentially with business partners to resolve compensation issues and achieve desired outcomes; provide guidance where appropriate to management regarding salary changes associated with promotions, demotions, transfers and relocations as well as market and equity adjustments.
    • Support the design and administration of JCPenney’s variable pay programs including commissions, annual bonuses, and long-term incentives by researching market trends, offering design and process improvements, modeling outcomes and costs, and drafting effective communication.
    • Contribute to the planning and administration of JCPenney’s annual performance assessment and merit processes in addition to other year-end projects.
    • Partner with HR Operations to properly set up compensation plans, grades, salary ranges, job profiles, and other compensation-related elements in PeopleSoft and related HR systems.
    • Maintains knowledge of new or pending local, state, federal legislation that may impact compensation programs.
    • Provide ad-hoc reports, statistics and information as needed.
    • Model a high level of service when responding to requests within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others’ feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by offering assistance to other functional teams when appropriate 

    Core Competencies & Accomplishments

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with concentration in Human Resources, Business, Finance or Certified Compensation Professional or equivalent work experience required
    • At least 2 years of experience in a Human Resources or Finance-related function required; analytical experience preferred
    • Demonstrated background of progressive responsibility in HR with knowledge of compensation practices, principles and regulations required; experience in a large multi-state retail/corporate environment preferred
    • Proficient knowledge of compensation theory and practice in implementation of organization-wide pay structures and special pay and incentive policiesProficient knowledge of Windows-based business software including Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel and Outlook

    The Equity Plan Administrator will be responsible for managing all equity plan administrative activity for JCPenney’s equity program in the US and Asia.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Administer all aspects of the equity programs, including maintenance of data (e.g., new hires, terminations, etc.) in the equity system, ensuring that all participant equity plan transactions (grants, exercises, releases, forfeitures, etc.) are correctly processed and settled in a timely manner

    • Reconcile share pool related to equity plan transactions on a periodic basis with Finance, the transfer agent and brokers; includes audit of plan reserve balances.
    • Administer the Employee Stock Purchase Plan: enrollment, purchase, communication, etc.
    • Represent the equity program(s) in all communications with internal and external partners
    • Administer and maintain all equity awards, terminations, exercises, vesting’s and account information for all global participants in equity software and maintain SOX compliance
    • Prepare information for SEC financial reporting disclosures and annual proxy
    • Manage and process RSU vesting’s and tax reporting in a timely manner
    • Compile equity related data for all required SEC security filings
    • Complete surveys and assist with compiling benchmark data for equity plans.

    Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in equity plan administration
    • Certifications/Licensure: Certified Equity Professional Certification (CEP), a plus
    • Experience managing and administering third party stock plan platform (Fidelity stock plan services platform, a plus)

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Serving as the Benefits & Compensation Manager and as part of MEI's Corporate Administration within the HR department s/he will be responsible for a wide range of HR operational functions in support of MEI Rigging & Crating regional office locations with specific support for benefits and compensation programs and administration.



    • Administration of all insured, fringe and Retirement benefit programs

    • Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggested changes to management.

    Position Summary

    In support of the Concentra Compensation program and under the direction of the Director of Compensation/HR Services, the Compensation Analyst will participate in job design and leveling and examine compensation information to determine competitive position and internal structure. This technical and analytical position requires strong communication skills, particularly written communication skills, to convey internal equity, external competitiveness and legal compliance of the organization’s pay practices.

    Base Compensation

    • Completes market analysis, job evaluation, and internal leveling of new and updated positions to ensure both external competitiveness and internal equity. Based on position-specific information, determines if an existing description can be used for classification.     The Manager – Compensation will provide day-to-day operational support of the Compensation function and will report into the Director – Compensation. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic, market-based pay environment. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Provide compensation expertise to the business regarding offer recommendations, promotions, salary adjustments, etc.
    • Review offer recommendations prepared by the Compensation Team for candidates and employees, as needed
    • Provide day-to-day support to the Director – Compensation during the annual merit, bonus, promotion/salary adjustment, and long-term incentive (LTI) processes
    • Manage the administration of the hourly progression program for field hourly employees in Operations and Measurement
