Diversity, equity, and inclusion must go hand in hand. Having a diverse employee base will not achieve benefits such as higher rates of innovation, retention, and profitability if the culture and offerings are not inclusive. It is essential for companies to understand the complex elements that must be considered when building out Total Rewards programs to support diverse populations.

Rebecca Krauland serves as the leader for the Workplace and Engagement Solutions offering at Lockton Dunning Benefits. In this capacity, she leads a team of individuals supporting clients through their Human Resources needs as well as through the Wellbeing & Engagement needs of their employees. She is a flexible and solution-oriented leader with over 10 years in Human Resources, experienced in a combination of strategic, technical, and administrative initiatives in support of all human resources functions including Total Rewards, Recruitment & Onboarding, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Training & Development, and HR Operations.

Dr. Joel Pérez, Owner of Apoyo Coaching and Consulting, LLC

Dr. Joel Pérez is owner of Apoyo Coaching and Consulting, LLC and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF). He specializes in career transitions, career coaching, identity-conscious leadership coaching and professionals that want to develop their cultural humility. He assists organizations that want to move from performative statements toward sustainable change. He has a certification in the MBTI, Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), Gallup Strengths Certified Coach and is a certified coach through the Academy of Creative Coaching. He has over 20 years of experience in higher education, serving in various key leadership roles.

Joel currently serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Los Angeles Chapter of the International Coaching Federation, where he is leading inclusion efforts.

Joel earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Biola University, an M. Ed. in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Claremont Graduate University. Joel has been married over 25 years and has four children, and he enjoys cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
