    Compensation Accounting Specialist - Dallas, TX

    Job Duties:

    • Records accounting journal entries related to all aspects HFC’s payroll and benefits including stock expense, dividend accruals, re-classes and stock vesting.
    • Answers questions from compensation related departments, award recipients, and employees regarding a variety of compensation accounting related questions such as grant terms, vesting, bonus, payroll, etc.
    • Maintains account reconciliations for payroll related accounts including stock reconciliations.
    • Performs general accounting activities for compensation and benefits accounting.
    • Acts as the point of contact for compensation accounting related questions.
    • Tracks stock shares and units outstanding on a regular basis to include, but not limited to, reconciling to the transfer agent (EQ) and tracking of shares available under the compensation program
    • Calculates new grant decisions setting up the liability as well as uploading files to Shareworks.
    • Ensures compliance with the Company’s Accounting Policies and Procedures for compensation accounting issues to ensure Controller’s department is in compliance with GAAP and other relevant government controls, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
    • Maintains the reconciliation of share available for use, treasury stock and cash equivalent grant for international recipients.
    • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

    Education & Experience:

    A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in general accounting. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, and Finance or related discipline.

    Preferred Education Experience or Skills

    • Five (5) years of Oil & Gas industry experience.
    • SAP experience
    • Stock plan accounting experience is preferred but not required.

    In support of the Concentra Compensation program the Compensation Analyst participates in job design, position leveling, and market pricing to evaluate positions within the internal organizational structure.     Job Summary:
    The Sr. Compensation Analyst for Providers’ Comp leads the development, design and administration of compensation programs for providers (Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers) in Methodist Medical Group and PASD. Continuously evaluates market pay data and industry trends, and reports findings to maintain competitive and cost effective pay practices. Documents fair market value and commercial reasonableness.

    Job Duties:

    1. Conducts market pay assessments of individual jobs and/or medical practice groups, using available competitive market data resources, internal equity comparisons and professional knowledge/experience. Documents results and provides cost impact analysis (projections) for any proposed compensation changes.
    2. Develops and administers compensation structures, models, incentive programs and processes based on professional category (physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, etc.) and medical practice type. These may include value-based provider compensation, income guaranty, ER or after hours call, etc. Provides advice and guidance to senior leadership regarding these structures, models, programs and processes.
    3. Prepares a compensation package recommendation for prospective new providers, which may include sign-on bonus, relocation reimbursement, student loan repayment and other components.
    4. Ensures compliance with employment agreements regarding compensation. Produces associated reports as needed.
    5. Ensures provider compensation models and practices are effective, well understood, market competitive, compliant with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and aligned with Methodist Medical Group/PASD physician compensation philosophy and with strategic objectives.
    6. Assesses competitive market (medical groups, employers of professional medical providers) regarding supplemental or specialty benefits programs; advises senior leadership regarding such offerings and assists in obtaining competitive proposals from vendors.
    7. Reports to medical group and HR leadership, keeps up to date re significant issues/developments. Assists in communications regarding total compensation which are clear, concise and informative.
    8. Provides expertise to management and staff; serves as an internal consultant. Provides training for management personnel as needed.
    9. Works collaboratively in all aspects of physician/APP recruitment.
    10. Participates in medical group budget process. Conducts or assists in audits as requested.
    11. Coordinates with Human Resources and Payroll staff to maintain data system elements affecting compensation, including job and position codes, job titles, pay grades/ranges and premium pay components.

    Education & Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
