    Job Summary:
    In support of the Concentra Compensation program the Compensation Analyst participates in job design, position leveling, and market pricing to evaluate positions within the internal organizational structure. This analytical position serves in a consultant capacity to leaders across the company on issues of internal equity, external competitiveness and legal compliance of the organization’s pay practices.

    Job Duties:
    Base Compensation

    • Completes market analysis, job evaluation, and internal leveling of new and updated positions to ensure both external competitiveness and internal equity. Based on position-specific information, determines if an existing description can be used for classification. As necessary, modifies and creates new descriptions which accurately reflect current roles, responsibilities and requirements.
    • Provides consultative guidance, interpretation, training and recommendations to managers, supervisors, and team members related to all compensation programs, policies, actions and issues.
    • Verifies compensation competitiveness by researching, benchmarking and analyzing market data.
    • Responsible for ensuring timely participation in external salary surveys. Responsible for determining matches and submitting organization profiles. Responsible for ensuring timely upload of survey results into compensation tool.
    • Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related issues.
    • Administration of annual Salary Planning program and assist finance in the bonus cycle.

    Sr Compensation Analyst, Medical Providers - Dallas, TX
    Methodist Health System

    Job Summary:
    The Sr. Compensation Analyst for Providers’ Comp leads the development, design and administration of compensation programs for providers (Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers) in Methodist Medical Group and PASD. Continuously evaluates market pay data and industry trends, and reports findings to maintain competitive and cost effective pay practices. Documents fair market value and commercial reasonableness.

    Job Duties:

    1. Conducts market pay assessments of individual jobs and/or medical practice groups, using available competitive market data resources, internal equity comparisons and professional knowledge/experience. Documents results and provides cost impact analysis (projections) for any proposed compensation changes.
    2. Develops and administers compensation structures, models, incentive programs and processes based on professional category (physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, etc.) and medical practice type. These may include value-based provider compensation, income guaranty, ER or after hours call, etc. Provides advice and guidance to senior leadership regarding these structures, models, programs and processes.
    3. Prepares a compensation package recommendation for prospective new providers, which may include sign-on bonus, relocation reimbursement, student loan repayment and other components.
    4. Ensures compliance with employment agreements regarding compensation. Produces associated reports as needed.
    5. Ensures provider compensation models and practices are effective, well understood, market competitive, compliant with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and aligned with Methodist Medical Group/PASD physician compensation philosophy and with strategic objectives.
    6. Assesses competitive market (medical groups, employers of professional medical providers) regarding supplemental or specialty benefits programs; advises senior leadership regarding such offerings and assists in obtaining competitive proposals from vendors.
    7. Reports to medical group and HR leadership, keeps up to date re significant issues/developments. Assists in communications regarding total compensation which are clear, concise and informative.
    8. Provides expertise to management and staff; serves as an internal consultant. Provides training for management personnel as needed.
    9. Works collaboratively in all aspects of physician/APP recruitment.
    10. Participates in medical group budget process. Conducts or assists in audits as requested.
    11. Coordinates with Human Resources and Payroll staff to maintain data system elements affecting compensation, including job and position codes, job titles, pay grades/ranges and premium pay components.

    Education & Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • 5 years experience in compensation principles, practices and analysis.

    Preferred Education, Experience or Skills
    Major in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or Health Administration preferred. Health care experience, including experience in designing and implementing physician compensation models and aligning with health system strategies highly desired.
