    Job Summary:

    The Senior Compensation Analyst partners with Compensation Consultants to provide compensation support to large complex Business Units. They will apply experienced, in-depth knowledge of compensation programs and data analysis to inform compensation-related decisions and improve the effectiveness of compensation strategies and programs. In addition, the Analyst uses technical expertise to work on complex problems where analysis requires rigorous evaluation of multiple factors and data sources


    Job Duties:

    • Develop deep understanding of the business and works with Compensation Consultants to manage the compensation strategy that aligns with the business strategy.
    • Client interaction: Engage, influence, and provide some consultation to various audiences, including HR Business Partners, line managers, senior management and executives. Provide advice to partners in a way that expands the understanding of compensation principles and programs and maintains data integrity and compliance with guidelines.
    • Conduct rigorous analysis of multiple and complex data sources (compensation surveys and market research, talent, workforce, best practices) to create various compensation models. Scenarios may include predictive analytics to identify future trends and risk. Asks well-informed questions to diagnose problems/needs.
    • Provide compensation support through job/pay analysis:
    • Perform market pricing analyses
    • Conduct job evaluations, with capability to determine FLSA classification; job mapping projects as a result of integrations and re-organizations; may assist on leveling projects in partnership with HRBPs and Managers
    • Participate in salary surveys and other benchmarking data sources – including pay practices/trends, global, LTI
    • Understand needs for market research and features of each survey; identify additional survey/market intelligence sources as needed
    • Lead some compensation projects and initiatives in the business, such as the Annual Compensation review and benchmarking studies. Work with internal McKesson partners (e.g., HRIS) to support project goals. Manage multiple analytical projects at the same time, prioritizing and adjusting to meet deadlines.

Reporting to Compensation and Benefits Manager, this role serves as the central point of contact for the administration of all leaves, which includes, but is not limited to FMLA, Workers Compensation, Military Leave, Short- and Long-Term Disability, ADA, HIPAA privacy laws and company attendance guidelines and/or policies. Cross trains and serves as a back up to the Senior Compensation and Benefits Analyst for data interfaces, retirement plan reconciliations and contribution transmittals.

    Job Duties:

    Leave of Absence Administration (70%):

    This position is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of all leave processes, including the validation of documentation, the complete tracking of leave of absence processes using spreadsheets, preparing metrics, communicating with employees/managers on leave status, interpreting leave of absence information, and translating and disseminating information to appropriate parties. The role is also responsible for effectively streamlining processes and procedures while maintaining exceptional customer service.

    The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge and understanding of FMLA, Workers Compensation, Disability and other leave of absence laws, the ability to manage files, intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, ability to create and manage complex tracking spreadsheets, exceptional customer service, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), strong prioritization and organization skills, consistent tracking and follow-through of tasks. The role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with other employees, departments and outside vendors, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, a sense of urgency, the ability to handle information of a personal and sensitive nature, and the ability to multi-task.

    Benefits and Basic Compensation Administration (30%):

    This position is responsible for the administration of health and welfare benefits. Responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of benefits enrollments, assisting employees with benefits claim issues and plan changes, responding to benefits and retirement plan inquiries, management of all data, and reconciling and processing health and welfare related benefit billings. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates benefit plans and programs. This role is also responsible for resolving problems/disputes between employees (active, retired and terminated) and various vendors. Other duties may include presenting benefit overviews to departments, including new-hire orientations, and assisting with special projects.

    Basic compensation plan administration duties include job description development, jobs pay ranges recommendations and prepares salary recommendations.

    Works in collaboration with the Senior Compensation and Benefits Analyst and HRIS Manager on HR Systems set-ups and testing, assists with the coordination and completion of special programs as assigned.

    • Lead and provide guidance on the administration of individual and team performance metrics; manage staff and monitor individual performance and development.

    Education & Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive, broad-based and incentive compensation experience preferably in geographically dispersed, multi-location organization(s)

    • Demonstrated experience evaluating, designing and implementing impactful compensation programs with an understanding of the financial metrics

    • Advanced excel skills including use of pivot tables, macros, formulas, data validation, and tables

    • Prior experience working in HRIS systems, including running queries, accessing and manipulating data

    • Prior experience with data modeling and research skills

    • Ability to see connections in and draw accurate conclusions from data, then determine appropriate interventions to address business challenges

    • Ability to manage changing priorities, multiple deadlines and competing demands

    • Effectively works in a fast-paced work environment to deliver results

    Preferred Education, Experience, or Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal, communications and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including the executive team

    The City of Oklahoma City serves approximately 681,054 residents in a four (4) county, 621 square mile area. Twenty-two (22) City departments provide a wide array of municipal services and programs. Additionally, municipal trusts play a significant role in the operations of major facilities and services.

    The city is recruiting for a Total Rewards Manager to join the team! This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and will manage four programs for the city: Class and Compensation, the Employee Medical Center, Health and Welfare Benefits, and the Retirement Savings Program.

    Job Duties:

    • Develop and recommend strategies and programs which support the achievement of Company objectives with regard to compensation programs.
    • Build, implement, and maintain a job analysis and documentation process that enables the assessment of internal equity and provides the foundation for pay management.
    • Analyze and update compensation infrastructure such as job classifications, job hierarchies, competitive benchmarking, and pay ranges.
    • Advise and recommend to management the annual compensation budget requirements and cost analysis.
    • Develop compensation administration policies, procedures, and processes that are easily managed.
    • Perform audits and provide reports which monitor compensation practices to ensure consistent administration and compliance with compensation policies and applicable laws.
    • Strengthen communication and education to both management and employees on the link between performance achievement and reward practices. Train and provide advice and guidance to HR managers in the effective use of the compensation programs.
    • Assist in the design of variable pay programs that support business strategy and provide a greater link between performance and pay.
    • Facilitate and coordinate the annual merit, bonus, and other incentive processes.

    Education & Experience:

    Key areas of focus for the new Total Rewards Manager include providing job analysis and salary administration services to City departments with job classifications and descriptions; ensuring the accuracy of the organizational pay structure for recruiting and retaining a diverse, inclusive and high performing workforce; integrating the Employee Medical Center into health insurance plan design; developing an Employee Wellness Program; increasing participation in the disease management program; identifying and implementing cost-saving health plan changes for employees and retirees; effectively communicating educational programs; and addressing overall health and wellness needs.

    The ideal candidate will have experience leading the design and evolution of a total rewards program, aligning with strategic objectives, market competitiveness, and with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to attract and retain a qualified, diverse, and inclusive workforce. Experience selecting and implementing new classification, compensation, and benefits management tools and systems is preferred for this role.

    Preferred Education, Experience, or Skills:

    Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, Human Resources, or another related field. A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in classification, compensation, benefits planning, analysis, and administration, as well as supporting a workforce of employees and retirees in an organization of similar size, scope, and complexity to that of the City of Oklahoma City is required. Preferred licenses and certifications include Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
